Grant of the Week: Research Grants from the AHA

Applications for the Bernadotte E. Schmitt Grants, the Albert J. Beveridge Grant, the Michael Kraus Research Grants, and the Littleton-Griswold Grants are due by midnight PST, February 15, 2009.

Each of these grants offer up to $1,000, except for the Michael Kraus Research Grant, which provides a cash award of up to $800. The Bernadotte Schmitt Grants support research in the history of Europe, Asia, and Africa; the Albert J. Beveridge Grant for Research in the Western Hemisphere supports research in the history of the Western hemisphere; the Michael Kraus Research Grant is for research in colonial American history, with particular reference to the intercultural aspects of American and European relations; and the Littleton-Griswold Grant supports research in U.S. legal history and the field of law and society. Again, applications for any of these grants are due by midnight PST, February 15, 2009. Please note, since this deadline falls on a weekend, those who need staff assistance should seek it by Friday, February 13.
