LONDON – British TV networks mid-day Tuesday reported that Kate Middleton, Prince William and their newborn son would leave the hospital in West London after 6 p.m. Tuesday or early on Wednesday.
BBC News correspondents cited royal sources as saying the family would not leave before Tuesday evening or maybe even on Wednesday. Sky News and ITV News also reported that they would leave as early as Tuesday night, but not before 6 p.m.

Members of the global media have been outside St. Mary’s Hospital in West London’s Paddington neighborhood for weeks. Cameramen and photographers have been waiting for the “money shot” of the royals leaving the hospital with their baby, though some observers have said the newborn may be bundled up, leaving little to see.
According to TV news reports here on Tuesday, hundreds of onlookers had joined them as of late morning in hopes of catching a glimpse of the royal family.
The Twitter feed of Clarence House, which handles updates on the royal couple, mid-day Tuesday posted a comment from a Kensington Palace spokesman who said, “Mother, son and father are all doing well this morning.”
It also posted a statement from Middleton and Prince William. “We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received,” it said. “We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital, and we would like to thank everyone — staff, patients and visitors — for their understanding during this time.”
They remained mum on the baby’s name and didn’t address the time they are likely to depart the hospital.
