Elk Grove Neighbor Spots Burglar, Cops Catch Crook

An observant witness helped Elk Grove Police catch a suspected burglar suspect early yesterday afternoon. 

According to police reports, a witness called in an in-progress burglary on the 6400 block of Red Birch Way. When officers arrived, the burglar had left the area.

A short time later the suspect was located by officers and contacted regarding the burglary. The suspect, 20-year-old Kenneth Strong, was found in possession of a laptop computer which was later positively identified by the homeowner.

Strong was arrested and taken to the county jail were he remains in custody on $50,000 bail.
