The Celebrity Apprentice star Gary Busey is getting his own vodcast (think: video podcast), The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
After successfully appearing on comedian Jon Lovitz‘s weekly vodcast series, Lovitz or Leavitz, in late July, Busey will lead his own monthly vodcast called Being Busey. It will premiere in October and take place in The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club & Vodcast Theatre, at Universal CityWalk.
“After Gary’s live vodcast experience, we knew we had to sign him to his own show,” said COO Marc Short in a statement.
Additionally, Kiss frontman and reality TV personality Gene Simmons will join Lovitz for a special taping of Lovitz or Leavitz on Aug. 23, which will take place in the club’s main room in front of a live studio audience. (Usually, the vodcasts take place in a special studio.)
“I’ve been a fan and friend of Gene’s for a long time,” said Lovitz in a statement. “He’s one of those rare people whose great at music and business. I always ask him for advice, and he always takes the time to help me.”
Previous guests have included Dana Carvey, Steve-O, Sam Rubin and Krista Allen. Lovitz or Leavitz airs Sundays at 7 p.m. ET on www.thejonlovitzcomedyclub.com and the Jon Lovitz Vodcast YouTube channel.
