A vacant home went up in flames in North Highlands early Monday morning.

Firefighters said there were heavy flames coming from the home’s attic on Longdale Drive when they arrived around 4 a.m.

Sacramento Metro Battalion Chief Brian Shannon said, “It was pretty well deep-seated prior to our arrival. The roof is caved in and has basically collapsed.”

There were no reports of injuries and there’s still no word on what caused the fire.
