.......no more free loaders allowed

As you might have read here on my blog this past summer.......the rabbits completely devastated our lower fields. It wasn't no more than 24 hours before these critters discovered the "Natomas Farm Buffet".....offering a vast variety of American dishes along with desserts! I do believe that the CA. drought is causing the animals to foraged the greener lands......in a explosive number of them.

All the tricks in the book were rolled out to do battle with these never ending appetite critters. Soapy spray on solutions to the little seedling plantings only acted like salad dressing. Motion activated sprinklers offered a clean shower for them. Farmer Deno and his three K9 kids spent 6 straight nights...camping out there. The K9 kids were out smarted. .....and the farmer was too.

This past week.....we completed out rabbit proof fence. Using steel "t - posts"........non barbed fencing wire...and rolls of poultry wire about 30 inches in height. Also installed is a light weight removable main entrance gate.....plus three openings on each side of the field for allowing dog(s) access.

No more free loaders...unless these rabbits got more tricks up their sleeves.
