At Sony Pictures Classics’ traditional Toronto dinner at Creme Brasserie on Saturday, Guneet Monga, producer of the TIFF gala entry The Lunchbox, revealed she’s a huge Jim Jarmusch fan.
In fact, she said the American indie maverick has a substantial following among the young and film-savvy in India.

When told about the Indian love, Jarmusch, whose Only Lovers Left Alive had its North American premiere here Sept. 5, said he had no idea anyone there paid attention to him.
Monga explained that the country is experiencing a big surge in local independent filmmaking, adding that “60 percent of India is youth.”
