The first wave of films for the Fantastic Fest lineup has been announced.
Keanu Reeves‘ directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi, will have its U.S. premiere at the Austin, Texas, festival, which runs Sept. 19-26 at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline.
Reeves will attend the event to present his film, which chronicles the life of a young martial artist who becomes a part of an underground fight club. Reeves also stars in the film, which will be released in North America by Radius-TWC, The Weinstein Company’s boutique label.

“Every year we scour the globe for the freshest and craziest genre films,” says Fantastic Fest founder and creative director Tim League in the announcement. “This first incredible selection of films gives a small taste of the fun, but I can assure you there are lots of surprises yet to come.”
Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills has already been announced as the opening night film. The film will have its world premiere Sept. 19 at the new Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline location, with Rodriguez and stars Danny Trejo and Alexa Vega in attendance.
