The American Historical Association is pleased to announce the names of 24 faculty members (from 12 two-year institutions across the United States) who will be taking part in our “American History, Atlantic and Pacific.” The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is supporting this project through a three-year agreement with the AHA, as part of their “Bridging Cultures at Community Colleges” initiative.

Participants in this project will work to create or revise U.S. history courses—especially the popular U.S. history survey courses—with lessons, units, and other work that deepens students understanding of the United States in the world, with particular reference to the Atlantic and Pacific rims.

These twelve institutions were selected from a very strong applicant pool of 26 community colleges from across the United States.
