As Archives Wiki approaches its sixth month online, I have decided to develop an Advisory Board for the site. Over the first six months we have received very helpful advice from younger historians such as Will Hanley (Florida State University) and Kate Theimer (ArchivesNext). Given that experience, I think it would be helpful to formalize those kinds of relationships, and perhaps extend them to some other communities that could assist with this project. Like any other wiki, we rely almost entirely on volunteer labor, so I think it would benefit from a few volunteers who have slightly more invested in the project than others. We could benefit from their insights from different constituency groups, use their assistance to assess misbehavior on the site, and reach out to other interested parties through their connections.

So I invite applications or expressions of interest from historians, archivists, and genealogists working in the archives, who would be interested in joining an AHA Advisory Board for the site. We want people on the board who will engage the site on a hands-on level, as active participants in the shaping and promotion of the site.
