Happy 5th Birthday, AHA Today!

Elisabeth Grant | Sep 28, 2011

AHA Today is five years old today! Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning, or just started following the blog recently, thanks for reading!

Over AHA Today’s half-decade we’ve interviewed historians in a variety of careers, offered daily coverage of events at four annual meetings, handpicked articles for our Thursday “What We’re Reading” posts, discovered all sorts of online resources, and reported on news from every corner of the history profession.

We prepared for AHA Today’s launch, back in 2006, by writing enough content for a month’s worth of posts, but there was concern about maintaining the blog after that. Would we be able to sustain a five-day a week posting schedule with enough relevant content? Happily, we have been able to. Regularly scheduled posts like “What We’re Reading” and “Grant of the Week” have helped, as have new online history resources, which seem to pop up daily.

As we look forward to the next five years, we’re interested in hearing from you, our readers. What are your favorite AHA Today posts? What types of posts would you like to see more of here? Let us know in the comments.
