DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and chief creative officer Bill Damaschke will deliver the opening address at Redefining Animation, the 25th annual conference for the Society of Animation Studies, which this year will be hosted by the USC School of Cinematic Arts’ John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts.
SAS is an international organization aimed at studying animation history and theory; it holds an annual conference where members present their recent research.
Taking place June 23-27 at USC, the event will include keynotes from character animator and USC professor Tom Sito; artist Davide Quayola; SCA’s Electronic Arts endowed chair of the interactive media and games division Tracy Fullerton; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor and USC professor Michael Fink; robotics designer David Hanson; and Oscar winning actress Geena Davis, founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media.
