The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will light up London on Nov. 11, with Lionsgate picking the British capital for the world premiere of the red-hot sequel to the 2012 hit.
Catching Fire, directed by Francis Lawrence, is based on the second novel in Suzanne Collins‘ best-selling book series. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth and is set to be released in the U.S. on Nov. 22. The film will open near day-and-date worldwide.

Anticipation ahead of Catching Fire is immense. The first Hunger Games film grossed nearly $700 million worldwide. Lionsgate’s decision to hold the film’s world premiere in London is a nod to the importance of international box office grosses in the franchise’s success.
The second installment sees Lawrence’s character, Katniss Everdeen, returning home after winning the titular Hunger Games battle together with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Hutcherson). While on their their victory tour across the country of Panem, Katniss notices increasing signs of rebellion against the central power of the country’s Capital. But President Snow (Donald Sutherland), eager to retain control, makes plans for a 75th Hunger Games, which will irrevocably change the country.
