FremantleMedia North America is expanding its scripted development with two executive appointments.
Craig Cegielski has been tapped to the newly created position of executive vp scripted programming and development, while Stefanie Berk has joined as senior vp scripted programming and development. Cegielski will report to Thom Beers, FremantleMedia North America CEO, while Berk will report to Cegielski.
“We’re thrilled to have these two wonderfully talented individuals join our team,” said Beers. “Scripted programming is a huge priority for us and both Craig and Stefanie bring passion, great relationships and years of experience with them to FremantleMedia.”
Cegielski joins FremantleMedia from Open Circle Entertainment, which he founded with Susan Gross. The company is currently developing two projects with the BBC as well as other projects. Cegielski was previously president of Graham King‘s GK-TV, a division of GK Films, and held positions at Lionsgate International Television, CBS/King World International and Paramount Pictures.
Berk, who begins Monday, comes from Playtone, where she has headed development since 2011. She developed television and film projects, including Game Change, Big Love, Charlie Wilson’s War, John Adams and The Pacific, for company partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. She was previously an assistant to Baz Luhrmann.
