For three days in San Diego, TV and film’s biggest stars sat down with The Hollywood Reporter at Comic-Con to talk about their projects, geekiest passions and funniest fan interactions.
The annual geek and comic convention, which sees more than 100,000 people roaming San Diego in homemade costumes, welcomes hundreds of actors, directors and showrunners who show off their wares for crowds at panels throughout the weekend.
Before or after their panels, stars from some of TV’s biggest shows (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead) and highly anticipated film projects (Divergent, The World’s End) dropped by THR‘s space at Gang Kitchen on Sixth Avenue.
Here are 10 highlights from THR‘s interviews:
1. The Breaking Bad cast, who was attending their final Con with the show, dished on their leading man, Bryan Cranston, who wasn’t able to make the interview. It turns out he’s way more comfortable in tighty whities than many would expect. Watch it here.
2. Kick-Ass 2 star Lindy Booth stopped by THR‘s interview lounge, but wasn’t there to just be interviewed. She took over the entire process, from start to finish. Watch it here.
3. The stars of Divergent, who just wrapped the film a few days previous, participated in their first panel. Shailene Woodley plays dress-up with her co-star Theo James, and they all reveal their interesting plans for a zombie apocalypse. Watch it here.
4. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright of The World’s End revealed their surprising thoughts on the Star Wars vs. Star Trek comparison, despite the fact that Pegg has starred in the latter. Watch it here.
5. The stars of The Walking Dead talk about their favorite zombie kills, and how they imagine their character would die on the show. Watch it here.
6. Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington revealed what kind of music his character, Jon Snow, would keep on his iPod and did his best Icelandic accent. Watch it here.
7. Megan Boone of The Blacklist revealed that her childhood obsession was none other than New Kids on the Block. Her co-star Diego Klattenhoff had some fun with that new piece of information. Watch it here.
8. Insidious 2 stars Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell (who also co-wrote the sequel) had a hilarious discussion about the smell at Comic-Con and why Star Wars was so great about loving all body types. Watch it here.
9. The funny stars of NTSF:SD:SVU:: discussed the unexpected way their show has helped protect the world from terrorism (OK, not really) and compared The Hollywood Reporter publication to its lesser-known sister publications, The Inglewood Reporter and The Los Feliz Reporter. Watch it here.
10. The stars of How I Met Your Mother talk about their first experience at Comic-Con, and Jason Segel reveals the disturbing comment a fan made to him at the Con. Watch it here.
