Festival Supreme. Sounds like “the coming together of a bunch of Froot Loops,” right?
That’s what the comedy rock duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass, known as Tenacious D, want festivalgoers to think. Black and Gass have teamed up to produce Festival Supreme, a day-long festival in Santa Monica, Calif., that will highlight the music side of comedy.

In a video posted today, the rockers, dressed in garb emulating Woodstock, promise “the greatest comedians and the greatest musicians” in a festival they’ve been preparing for “a couple million years.”
The first-of-its-kind festival will take place at the Santa Monica Pier on Oct. 19 and will feature a comedy star-studded show. Among the comedians slated to appear are Adam Sandler, Tim and Eric, Sarah Silverman, Fred Armisen, Demetri Martin, The Mighty Boosh, Zach Galifianakis and more.

Explained Black to Rolling Stone: “There’s no real objective here other than to put on the greatest show this town has ever seen. I feel like there’s an empty hole there, too. Like, why hasn’t there ever been a really kick-ass comedy festival in Los Angeles? I can’t think of one. It’s, like, a no-brainer. This is where they all are. You don’t even have to fly anybody out.”
Tickets, which start at $99, are available on the Festival Supreme website. Tenacious D also created an “ad” for the event, which can be viewed below.
