Mike Fleiss, creator and executive producer of ABC‘s The Bachelor franchise, and host Chris Harrison are paying their respects to former castmember Gia Allemand, who died Wednesday.
“The entire Bachelor family is tremendously saddened by the tragic passing of our friend, Gia,” Fleiss said in a statement. “She was truly a sweet and generous soul. This is a devastating loss for anyone who ever knew her.”

Meanwhile, Harrison took to Twitter to remember the former model:
It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our good friend Gia Allemand. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Allemand was a Bachelor castmember on Jake Pavelka’s season and also was the only person to compete twice on spinoff Bachelor Pad. She died Wednesday in her New Orleans home after an apparent suicide attempt, said a publicist for the reality TV star and her boyfriend, NBA Pelicans player Ryan Anderson. She was admitted to University Hospital on Monday night and was taken off life support two days later.
