Chris Jaymes has signed on to direct the feature Eye of the Storm for CFP Entertainment.
The project is based on a self-published romance novel by C.K. Gray and was adapted by Paul Johannson.
The story revolves around a successful businesswoman and a doctor who find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another and unwittingly mirroring a past romance that ended in tragedy.
Christine Forsyth Peters is producing alongside Gray.
Jaymes made his feature helming debut with In Memory of My Father, which starred Judy Greer and Jeremy Sisto. He also wrote and produced that film. He is attached to direct the family film Little Joe Dolphin and the action drama Sons of Chaos, both of which he wrote.
Jaymes most recently directed an episode of the Netflix series Bad Samaritans, produced by Fox Digital and Walt Becker, as well as the pilot The Millionaire for executive producer Mike Wortsman. Before that, he produced the TV movie Mile High.
His nonfiction book, Boxing Day, was published in 2007 and chronicles his experiences as an aid worker in the 2004 tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia.
Led by producer Peters, CFP Entertainment’s credits include the hit romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Other film projects in the CFP pipeline include Richard Leakey‘s memoir Wildlife Wars: My Fight to Save Africa’s Natural Treasures; Fashionistas, based on the best-selling book by Lynn Messina; the romantic comedy Revenge Wedding, written by Betsy Van Stone and Noelle Stehman; and the romantic comedy Getting a Guy, written by Peters and Tiffany Romigh.
Jaymes is repped by manager Corey Ackerman and attorney Matt Galsor.
