The Craft and Folk Art Museum, in conjunction with the Contemporary Craft Council, will offer a private tour of the Borman Residence, designed by architect Frank Gehry, on Nov. 3.
The 11,413-square-foot Borman home, located in Malibu, has been on the market since May with an asking price of $57.5 million, making it one of Malibu’s highest-priced listings. Built in 1989, the residence was owned by Burton Borman, former CEO of insurance company PennCorp Financial and Todd Shipyards, until his death in 2012. If a deal were to close, it would top all property sales in Broad Beach.

The exclusive viewing of the Borman Residence, rarely open to the public, will provide a peek into the estate’s six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, private tennis court and pool and 160 feet of beachfront. The spacious property covers 1.46 acres and also features a living room deck, high ceilings, an attached guesthouse and an outdoor area equipped with a fireplace and spa and an adjoining kitchen.
Frank Gehry, the architect behind the modern-style home, is noted as the mastermind of many renowned city attractions. Other Frank Gehry-designed structures include the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Venice’s one-of-a-kind Binoculars Building, which now houses Google’s Los Angeles headquarters.
