NPR: Top Selling Alcohol in the World Coming to America

CATEGORIES

SojuThe top selling alcohol in the world is hoping to penetrate the US market, according to NPR.

South Korea’s Jinro Soju tops all other alcohols, more than doubling the sales of other top selling spirits.

Yet most in America have never heard of it as the popularity of the rice wine is centered around South Korea, Japan and China.

With the help of K-Pop’s Psy, Jinro is introducing Soju to American taste buds with billboards featuring Psy going up in Los Angeles.

“We want to be at every store. Like, everybody could just walk into a store and see Soju there. That’s our main goal,” said says Tae Kim, sales and marketing manager for Jinro America.

Just how realistic is that goal. You can find out on NPR.
