CarIntoHomeCITRUS HEIGHTS –

A driver slammed into a tree in front of a home early Tuesday morning in Citrus Heights, but it wasn’t because of speeding or DUI — it was because of an animal.

The driver said he saw an animal in front of the SUV which caused him to swerve off the road.

The front bumper of the SUV was ripped off in the process and the airbags were deployed when it hit the tree before it rolled toward the house on Linda Sue Way right off Madison Avenue. The car never actually hit the home.

The people living inside the home and the driver are uninjured.
