Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow and actor Ben Kingsley will be honored at the 2013 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The annual BAFTA L.A. gala dinner will held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and broadcast on BBC America on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET.
Bigelow will receive the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing. Bigelow, the first woman to ever receive the best director Oscar for The Hurt Locker (which also won best picture), most recently helmed Zero Dark Thirty, which was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture. Previous winners include Christopher Nolan, Danny Boyle and Stephen Frears.

British actor Kingsley will receive the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment. The Oscar- and BAFTA Award-winning actor recently played The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 and will next be seen in sci-fi adaptation Ender’s Game. Previous winners of the award include John Lasseter and Will Wright.

As previous Academy Award- and BAFTA-winning artists, BAFTA Los Angeles is proud that Kathryn and Sir Ben will join us for what is certain to be a memorable evening.”
As previously announced, George Clooney will be honored with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.
