There are a lot of changes over at American Dad.
Ahead of the 20th Century Fox TV cartoon’s move from broadcast home Fox to cable net TBS, co-showrunner Mike Barker has exited the series.
The co-creator and co-executive producer, who has an overall deal at the studio, will not be part of the series after it wraps its 10th and final run on Fox, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. Counterpart Matt Weitzman will assume sole showrunning duties for the time being, taking over for at least the first four of the 15-episode TBS order.
American Dad, part of Seth MacFarlane‘s animation empire, is already prepping the first batch of episodes that will run on TBS. And though there is no premiere date nailed down, it is expected to make its cable debut in late 2014.
With the exception of a brief hiatus last year, Barker has been with American Dad since it premiered in 2005. The shuffle was made amid concerns that production could be running more smoothly.
