Matt Ember and Tom Astle, a fast-rising writing duo in animation, have signed with Verve for representation.
They were previously at UTA.
Ember and Astle wrote Epic, the upcoming 3D CGI feature from Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox that is an adaptation of the William Joyce book The Leaf Men. The movie opens May 24.
The pair just came off of working on Me and My Shadow for DreamWorks Animation and are now working on DWA’s Happy Smekday!, which is in production and has a release date of November 26, 2014.

On the live action side, they did a rewrite on My Week With Will for CBS Films and worked on a sequel to Get Smart.
Aslte and Ember began their careers in television before moving into movies. Their second spec was Failure to Launch, Paramount’s Matthew McConnaughey movie, which led them to work on Get Smart, Warners’ 2008 hit that starred Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway.
Ember continues to be repped by Morris Yorn while Astle is repped by Hansen Jacobson.
