Announcements -Taking a Really Long Break

I have been blogging for 6 years and I have seen some changes during this time.

Blogging has changed. I have noticed less entries, less comments. On the whole this medium is changing. I have seen more bad author behavior, blogs going away, blogger drama. This year has interesting to say the least.

So with heavy heart , and a piles of books I need to read. I want to go back to school, or work more. I am stopping this blog very soon. I feel that its time. I have told some people ,but now I am telling everyone.

If I have a book to review...I will get it but I am only one person. It also depends on my mood and the book. Lately I have been reading my books from the kindle, and ARC's not so much. Which to me is surprising. I love reading but it feels like a job more and more.

I will ending the blog  soon , and posting less often.

I will be going back to school to further my education.

  1. I have noticed the change in the blogging world as well with all the drama etc. Its sad because we are all adults and some of these adults act like high school students.

I have to admit to being in a blogging funk lately and I am hoping that it will get back on track. You will be missed :)

  2. I've been in a funk lately as well, so haven't been posting as much lately. Don't know if I'm going to stop blogging totally, but I have really slowed down.

Good luck with school! You'll be missed!

  4. I stay away from the drama pretty well. I know what you mean about it can get to feeling like a job. I've only been at it two years, luckily I'm still feeling really good about it. It's probably because I've met a lot of wonderful people like yourself, and the others I just ignore because they really don't effect my life. You know I'll still big you on Twitter! I hope you have a great experience going back to school!

  5. It will be so sad to see you go, but I am so happy to hear that you will be doing something for yourself! I wish you the best of luck in everything. And you know you will always have friends in the blogosphere who would be glad to welcome you anytime you want! :)

  6. I definitely know how you feel abut blogging slumps. You need to do whatever makes you happy. this is just a hobby and not worth doing if it's not fun anymore.

I seem to have found a good balance by basically ignoring all the drama and keeping the blog a hobby rather than something I HAVE to do every day.

I would say I'll miss you but I'm not letting you go anywhere lol There's still texting and twitter :-)

  7. I've got a stack of books that I've FINISHED READING sitting here on my desk, just waiting for me to get the inspiration to pump out a couple of paragraphs telling people how I enjoyed the books and what I like most about them.

It happens.. Good luck with school and life.

  8. So sad to hear that. You should keep the blog open in case you ever decide to come back to it! You'll still be on Twitter right?

  9. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do - school, work, sitting on the couch eating bon bons...I knew this was coming, but I'm still a little sad. Hope to see you on Twitter though and still chat about books.

Thanks for posting the pics of your beautiful family.

  10. Julie this makes me sad, you better at least pop on twitter!! But, I understand -- it is changing and I feel ya. I'm also proud that you are going back to school. That should be awesome, new adventure.

  11. I stay away from all drama, blogging and otherwise. When I started my blog, I decided to try to write one blog post a week and visit ten blogs a week. That, for me, is a goal that I am happy with.

  12. I also try to stay away from the drama, and just blog for my own sake, but even then it sometimes gets to be too much. I have considered taking a break for a while, but for right now I am just cutting down the number of posts and pressure I am under. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you choose to do outside of blogging. You will be missed!
