Salil Mehta, NBCUniversal’s COO/CFO of Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media division, is joining 20th Century Fox Film, the studio said Friday.

Mehta’s start date is Monday, Sept. 23. The exec will report to Fox chairman Jim Gianopulos.
“As a result of new technologies and global growth, I, like Jim, think entertainment content’s best days are ahead of it, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues at the studio that will help blaze that path,” said Mehta in a statement.
Mehta, who had worked previously at Walt Disney Company, joined NBCUniversal in 2008 as president of business operations, strategy and development. He also spearheaded mobile strategy at ESPN Enterprises.
In 2011, when he was promoted to the COO/CFO role at NBCU, he was touted as having played a role in a year-long integration with Comcast, working with NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke.
“Salil possesses the perfect mix of problem-solving skills, leadership proficiency, technological savvy, and collaborative expertise to play a critical role in guiding our content through the multifaceted media world we operate in today,” said Gianopulos in the statement.
