SACRAMENTO –

We’ve seen the concept drawings for a state-of-the-art “indoor-outdoor” sports complex. Now, Kings executives submitted a site plan for Sacramento City Council review.

The plans would keep many downtown Sacramento staples—like the parking garage—Macy’s on 5th and l Streets, the travelers building on 5th and J Streets, along with the Church of Scientology and a few more.

But the southeast quadrant of the downtown plaza is out of here, replaced with a one million square foot, $448 million sports complex, more than double the size of Sleep Train Arena.

Included in the three phase design plan: a 250-room hotel, 550-units of residential housing, and more than 800,000 square feet of commercial, office and retail space.
