The festival, held in a famous Bohemian spa town a two-hour drive from the Czech capital, Prague, has forged a reputation in the last 15 years for attracting top Hollywood talent to its red carpet events.
Considered one of Europe’s most relaxed fests where stars and political luminaries — such as the late Czech president Vaclav Havel who was a frequent visitor before his death in 2011 — mingle with guests, the fest has gained a reputation for spotting emerging new talents from Eastern Europe and Asia as well as for screening intelligent and popular retrospectives of classic Hollywood fare.
Past Crystal Globe winners include Robert De Niro, whom Travolta stars alongside in Killing Season, actress, Dame Judi Dench, director John Boorman, and actress Susan Sarandon, Robert Redford, Michael Douglas and Czech-born director Milos Forman, among others.

The fest also confirmed Tuesday that French star Audrey Tautou would attend to present her latest film, Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo. Other guests will also include Sin Nombre director Cary Fukunaga, British actor Julian Sands and Italian filmmakers Paulo Sorrentino and Valeria Golino.
Director Oliver Stone, will also be honored with a previously announced Crystal Globe for Lifetime Achievement this year.
