STOCKTON—
Police say that a 14-year-old boy managed to scare off a man who broke into his home by hitting him with a frying pan.
Early Tuesday afternoon, the boy told police that he was home alone when the doorbell to his W. Lincoln Road and N. El Dorado Street home rang. The boy didn’t answer the door, but the suspect – 25-year-old Victor Frank – went around to the back and managed to get in through a bedroom window.
Somehow, the teen knew that someone had just broken into his home and called his mother. The mother then called police, while the teen armed himself with the frying pan.
The boy then confronted the robber and hit Frank with the pan, sending him running.
Officers were able to catch up to Frank less than a block away.
Frank now faces residential burglary charges.
