Britney Spears went to “Work” earlier than expected.
The pop diva’s new single “Work Bitch” has leaked online a full day before it was expected to premiere on Monday night. Spears had teased fans about the release of the single for weeks via a countdown clock on her website, which has “Work Bitch” scheduled to launch on Sept. 16.
Adam Leber, the singer’s manager, said it was “disheartening that one bad apple had to spoil our release for the entire fan community.” In response to the leak of the low-quality version, Spears and Co. worked to move up the radio and iTunes debuts for the official cut to 3 p.m. ET. The official video is below.

As expected, the song — written by Willi.i.am and Sebastian Ingorsso protégé DJ Otto Jettman, among others — is a full-on club banger with Spears giving fans the secret to her success. “You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maserati? You better work bitch!” she coos in the song’s opening lines. Spears led fans to believe that Swedish House Mafia producer Ingorsso was also involved in the song’s production via an Instagram post on Wednesday, but the DJ quickly clarified to Billboard that he did not write the track.
Last week, Britney gave fans an eyeful by posting a pair of photos from the “Work Bitch” video shoot. One pictured spears in a black and gold bustier and long black gloves, while another showed the singer looking fit wearing a bikini. The accompanying caption reads, “Gonna get my tan on in the desert in between shots on the #WorkBitch set today. It’s HOT out here people!!!! #desert#heatwave #WorkBitchDay2”
“Work Bitch” follows the June release of “Ooh La La,” the lead single to The Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Earlier this year, Spears scored another Top 5 hit with her Will.i.am collaboration “Scream & Shout.”
