A woman being held by Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies has died after ingesting drugs and feeling ill.

The 39-year-old unidentified woman was taken into custody Monday evening, and booked on a charge of possessing a controlled substance for sale.

Around 2 a.m. Tuesday, she said he was feeling ill, and was taken to a hospital where she later died.

The Sheriff’s Department is completing an investigation into the death, and waiting for the Sacramento County Coroner to determine a cause of death.
