Content Television has found some willing patients for The Indian Doctor, the BBC One drama about an upper-class South Asian couple dealing with culture shock after moving to a working-class coal-mining town in Wales in the 1960s.

The series, which will kick off its third season on BBC Wales this fall, closed multiple license deals ahead of next month’s MIPCOM TV confab, with channels such as Denmark’s TV2, Sky Network Television in New Zealand and Dori Media’s Spike Israel signing up. SPI International took rights for the series across its footprint, covering much of eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
Content also inked video rights deals for The Indian Doctor for multiple territories, with IMC buying U.K. rights, BFS Entertainment and Multimedia handling North America and Madman Entertainment buying home entertainment rights for Australia and New Zealand.
