Rob Riggle has nabbed one of the last major roles in Dumb and Dumber To, the sequel to the 1990s comedy classic being directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are reprising their roles as dim-witted best friends Lloyd and Harry who hit the road to find Harry’s long-lost daughter to donate a kidney for a transplant.
Riggle has the plum part of playing twins, a handyman named Travis and his unstable brother, Captain Lippencott.

Kathleen Turner, Rachel Melvin, Laurie Holden and Steve Tom are already on board the movie, which is shooting in Atlanta.
The screenplay is written by the Farrellys, Bennett Yellin and Mike Cerrone. Sean Anders and John Morris penned an earlier draft.
The Farrellys are producing with Red Granite’s Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland along with Bradley Thomas and Charlie Wessler.

Red Granite is producing, financing and distributing Dumb and Dumber To. Universal has the film’s domestic distribution rights and is looking tentatively at a summer 2014 release (which also marks the 20th anniversary of the original film release).
Riggle is known for his scene-stealing performances and has grabbed the spotlight in comedies such as The Hangover and 21 Jump Street. He recently wrapped Fox’s Let’s Be Cops and is slated to return for 22 Jump Street.
Riggle is repped by WME, Principato Young Entertainment and Sloane Offer.
