STOCKTON-

An alleged robber was caught after he shot himself in the leg during one of his crimes, according to Stockton Police.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday night, officers were called to a store along Hammer Lane near Thornton Road following a robbery.

Investigators learned that during the robbery, the suspect shot himself and ran away with an unknown amount of cash.

While on scene, police received another emergency call, this time for reports of a shooting victim. Officers determined the 21-year-old man with the gunshot wound to his leg was the man who had robbed the Hammer Lane business.

The man, identified as Donnello Knowles, was also linked to two robberies that happened earlier Wednesday evening.

Knowles was arrested for robbery, discharging a firearm and other weapons charges.
