Bill Beckwith, co-host of HGTV‘s home-improvement show Curb Appeal, died Monday after a fatal motorcycle crash in San Francisco. He was 38.
The contractor was identified as the motorcyclist who was struck and killed by a car in the Lower Haight neighborhood, near the corner of Oak and Steiner streets, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. The crash occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, police said. Beckwith later died at the San Francisco General Hospital.
The car’s driver was a 30-year-old male who stopped after the crash and cooperated with investigators.
Beckwith grew up in Maine and graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in modern dance and English. He founded BB Design Build in 2001, specializing in cabinetry and finish work in the San Francisco area. He enjoyed kickboxing, yoga and martial arts, and also was a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
