Adam Scott and Toni Collette have joined the cast of Krampus, the Christmas-themed horror project from Legendary.
Michael Dougherty, who made the Halloween-themed Trick ‘r Treat, wrote the script with Todd Casey and Zach Shields and is directing.
The story centers on a family that comes under attack from a Santa Claus-like ancient entity who punishes bad kids.

Scott will play the father, a workaholic and rather absent dad who has to step up for his family.
Collette will play the mother, a woman who pretends everything is perfect with her family via her elaborate meals but will also have to dig deep to protect her family.
Allison Tolman already is on board as Collette’s sister-in-law, while Emjay Anthony is playing the son.
Legendary is eyeing a spring shoot in New Zealand.
Scott is coming off a strong Sundance showing with the premiere of The Overnight, which he starred in and produced with his wife, Naomi, via the couples’ Gettin’ Rad Productions (along with the Duplass Brothers), and also co-starred in Sleeping With Other People. He just wrapped a five-year stint on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Scott is repped by WME and Mosaic.
Collette’s recent credits include The Way Way Back and Enough Said with James Gandolfini and Lucky Them. She recently wrapped Catherine Hardwick’s drama Miss You Already with Drew Barrymore and Dominic Cooper. She is repped by CAA, Viking Entertainment, and Jackoway Tyerman.
