Michel Protti will leave his position as senior vp of strategy and operations for Guggenheim Digital Media, parent company of The Hollywood Reporter, and join Facebook as director of emerging business.
Protti joined Guggenheim Digital Media with Ross Levinsohn, who was named CEO in January. Prior to that he was chief of staff for Levinsohn while Levinsohn was interim CEO at Yahoo. Protti was also country manager for Yahoo! Canada for 15 months.
Prior to Yahoo, Protti spent four years with McKinsey & Co. consulting on matters pertaining to technology and media. Protti also spent time as an actor and theater producer and co-founded a Canadian theater company.

At Guggenheim, Protti contributed to, among other things, external growth transactions, including strategic initiatives involving merger and acquisition opportunities.
At Facebook, the world’s largest social-media company, Protti will also help to identify new business opportunities. He begins Dec. 2 and will be based in California’s Bay Area near Facebook’s headquarters.
