IFC‘s Garfunkel & Oates is one and done.
The AMC Networks-owned cabler has opted to cancel the comedy series after one season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on duo Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci‘s musical comedy web videos, the series was IFC’s first female-driven comedy series. The series, which bowed in 2014, followed the duo’s aspirations and misadventures and — like their viral videos — was set to satirical and frequently profane songs.
The eight-episode series was produced by Abominable Pictures, with Lindhome, Micucci and Children’s Hospital‘s Jonathan Stern on board as executive producers.
The comedy wrapped its run in September with an average of about 140,000 viewers. The network’s scripted ranks consist of Comedy Bang! Bang!, Maron, Portlandia and Trapped in the Closet.
