DC Entertainment is launching the third and, for now, final campaign for its We Can Be Heroes fundraising effort to fight the hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa. After earlier campaigns centered on Batman and Superman, this new campaign — which will run for the next six weeks — will bring in the entire Justice League.
The Justice League campaign will be organized differently from the previous We Can Be Heroes campaigns, with each of the six weeks centered on different members of the superhero team — aside from the first and final weeks, which are organized around the team as a whole. Starting Sept. 24, Wonder Woman takes center stage, followed on Oct. 1 by the pairing of Green Lantern and Green Arrow, with Oct. 8 launching an Aquaman/Flash/Cyborg grouping, and Oct. 15 seeing a return for the Batman/Superman team.

As before, the campaign is being run through IndieGoGo, with different pledge levels having different rewards, from signed editions of comics to something a bit more unusual — for the Wonder Woman week, “a special experience with Lynda Carter is one of the more high-level rewards being offered, for example. (Also up for grabs: an advance screening party for an episode of the CW’s Arrow, and two passes to New York Comic Con, complete with lunch with DC co-publisher Dan DiDio and editor-in-chief Bob Harras.)
“We’re extremely proud of the success of the ‘We Can Be Heroes’ crowdfunding campaign and consider this fantastic lineup of Justice League perks and fan rewards as the ideal way to end 2013’s philanthropic efforts on a high note,” DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson said in the company’s announcement for the final campaign. “Like the Justice League, we can do a lot of good when we band together.”
The campaign runs through Oct. 28.
