Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will be honored by The Hamptons International Film Festival and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts New York, which is presenting the Golden Starfish Award for Lifetime Achievement to the two producers on Oct. 12. Renee Zellweger, who starred in Working Title’s Bridget Jones’ Diary movies, will introduce the awards event at the festival.
Working Title’s films include Les Miserables, Atonement, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Billy Elliot. The company also has produced such recent features as Richard Curtis’ About Time, Edgar Wright’s The World’s End and Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina.
The three directors are expected to join Zellweger, Bevan and Fellner for a conversation about Working Title at the festival.
“The Hamptons International Film Festival is pleased to recognize Working Title Films and its incredible body of work,” Anne Chaisson, executive director of the festival, said. “Honoring outstanding international cinema is the central point of the festival’s mission, and Working Title has been a game-changer on the international stage. It is a great privilege to partner with BAFTA New York to acknowledge Working Title and its standout achievements.”
The tribute to Working Title will be produced by Luke Parker Bowles and Harlene Freezer, who both serve on the HIFF advisory board and are board members of BAFTA New York. The festival runs Oct. 10-14.
