YUBA CITY–
She’s an after school coordinator, but Yuba City Police say on Tuesday morning at 2:40 a.m. they spotted Lanell Susan Philips acting strange.
The 50-year-old was spotted near Market Street and Lynn Way rifling through trash. She told police she was looking for bottles and cans.
Her weird behavior prompted police to ask to search her Honda Civic. Philips agreed, that’s when police found meth and prescription pills.
Turns out, Lanell Philips is the after school coordinator for Barry Elementary school in Yuba City, but now she’s on administrative leave.
Phillips is booked into the Sutter County Jail on $15,000 bail. She’ll be in court Thursday morning.
