Leon Knoles will direct the upcoming syndicated late-night talk show The Arsenio Hall Show when it launches in September, it was announced Friday by Hall and executive producers John Ferriter and Neal Kendall.
Knoles is a veteran director and technical director who worked for three seasons on American Idol and five season on Last Comic Standing in addition to stints on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Real Time With Bill Maher, The Wayne Brady Show and specials including The Motown Sound: In Performance at The White House.
“Leon Knoles knows live television, music and, more importantly, how I work — which is an unbeatable combination in my opinion,” Hall said. “He has the sensibility as well as the experience to deliver the nightly entertainment we envision for the show.”
Hall’s return to late night is set for Sept. 9. His show, for CBS Television Distribution, is expected to air at 11 p.m. in most markets.
