A Los Angeles home with longtime ties to Hollywood has changed hands.
Barbara Warner Howard, 79 — daughter of Jack Warner, co-founder of Warner Bros., and wife of the late TV writer Cy Howard — has sold her Whitley Heights property to Nick Weidenfeld, head of Animation Domination High-Def (Fox’s new Saturday late-night animation block) and his wife, Amantha.

The 2,600-square-foot home sold for $1.6 million and sits on one of the best lots in the area, says listing agent Tim Swan of The Agency. “This is a sweeping corner lot that is hedged and gated with dead-on views of downtown to the ocean, with the Capitol Records building right there in the fore,” says Swan, who adds that the area was “the celebrity enclave long before Beverly Hills and Bel Air,” with past residents that included Carole Lombard, William Powell and Rudolph Valentino. More recently, Phillip Noyce, Ellen Pompeo and Roman Coppola have called the hillside neighborhood located above Hollywood Boulevard home.
“The historic area and this home specifically reminded us of what originally drew us to L.A.,” says Weidenfeld. “You can feel the history and magic here.”
