HONG KONG – Fortissimo Films has picked up worldwide rights of Siddharth, the second feature from Canadian director Richie Mehta (Amal).
The Canadian-India co-production tells the story of an Indian laborer father’s search of his missing 12-year-old son after he sent the young boy to work in a factory in Delhi.
Starring Rajesh Tailang, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Anurag Arora, the film is written and directed by Mehta and produced by Steven N. Bray, David Miller and Mehta, under their A Poor Man’s Productions label.
Siddharth will receive its world premiere at the forthcoming Venice International Film Festival in Venice Days, followed by its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in the Contemporary World Cinema section. The director and cast will be in Venice and Toronto to present the film.
