Starr says he never took a photography course. "Nor a drum course. I just took photos. Some of them, the focus is not too good, but that's not important. If you just get that moment, that's what counts."
Some of Starr's photos, such as this portrait of Lennon, have degraded since they were taken nearly five decades ago, but the drummer said he liked the aesthetic effect.
