TORONTO – The Weinstein Company has pre-bought the U.S. rights to the Michelle Williams-starrer Suite Francaise, which starts shooting in June.
TWC will also handle the distribution rights to director Saul Dibb’s World War II drama in Latin America, Australia, Russia and Germany.

Suite Francaise, a France/U.K./Belgium co-production, will be released in France by TF1, while Entertainment One will release the picture in the U.K., Spain and Canada.
TF1 Droits Audiovisuels and Entertainment One are producing the $19.5 million picture, which will begin shooting June 24 in Belgium and Paris.
Also starring Matthias Schoenaerts and Kristin Scott Thomas, Suite Francaise is set in 1940s France and is based on the novel by Irene Nemirovsky.

TF1 International is handling world sales of the picture.
TF1 DA acquired right to the book in 2007, with Dibb (The Duchess) doing the movie adaptation with co-writer Matt Charman.
Xavier Marchand and Romain Bremond will produce along with Qwerty Films’ Michael Kuhn and Andrea Cornwell. Harvey Weinstein will be executive producer.
