Twenty-five shows in a month isn’t a harrowing experience; many musicians do it often. But 25 shows in the same city — in 11 days? That’s a bit more novel.
British indie pop act The xx announced on Dec. 12 that it will take up residency at New York’s Park Avenue Armory for 11 days next March. During that stretch, the band will play 25 different shows — sometimes three in one evening.

The catch? Like the act’s sets at the Manchester International Festival last July, only 40 people will be admitted to each set, making for a fairly intimate experience.
The rockers will begin their residency with two preview shows on March 19, followed by the official opening March 20. Each weekday show will feature two xx sets, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., while weekend shows — three in all — will find the band playing three different sets, adding a show at 6 p.m.

The xx released its last album, Coexist, in 2012. It debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, selling 73,000 copies in its first week.
