Honored:
This week the LA 3-D Club announced the winners of its 10th annual LA 3-D Movie Festival. The Grand Prize was awarded to Flight of the Butterflies, directed, produced and co-written by Mike Slee and executive produced by Jonathan Barker of SK Films in Toronto. The second place prize went to The Hot Shaolin Cook, directed by Khan Lee and produced by South Korean stereoscopic production company 2i Digital. Coming in third place was A Lapse of Time, by director Céline Tricart and produced by Kafard Film in Paris. This year marked the inaugural presentation of the Ray Zone Award for Excellence in ‘3-DIY,’ named for festival co-founder Ray Zone, who passed away in 2012. Animator/musician Jeff Boller won the prisze for his hand-drawn music video The Simple Carnival – A Geek Like Me.
