Fox will not be joining forces with Murder Police after all. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the network has nixed plans to have the half-hour cartoon join its lineup in 2014.
Murder Police, from David A. Goodman and Jason Ruiz, was to launch as part of Sunday’s Animation Domination block in midseason. Its removal leaves a notable hole in the cartoon lineup, as American Dad will soon depart for TBS. (The Cleveland Show was canceled last season.)
Producers 20th Century Fox TV plan to shop Murder Police to cable networks. TVGuide was first to report the news. The cartoon, which chronicles the antics of a hapless detective and his co-workers, includes the voice talent of Wilmer Valderrama, Jane Lynch, Will Sasso, Chi McBride, Peter Atencio, Justina Machado and Ruiz.
News of Murder Police‘s cancelation comes on the heels of early 2014-15 renewals for Fox toons The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers. They’re currently joined on the lineup by Seth MacFarlane‘s Family Guy.
