It has been a wonderful holiday. Sadly, another year has come to a close. I thought it would be fun to re-share a great wine that we had enjoyed while we celebrated to coming New Year.
Mark West Pinot Noir
I had a scrumptious dinner with my husband the other night, and of course we had some wine to go with it. The server recommended a Mark West Pinot Noir with our chosen entrees and boy was she right. It a great choice and went well with our entrees. I went looking for this wine the very next day and to my delight, found it to be very well priced, and so, here we are reading about this delectable wine.
Mark West Pinot Noir is produced in the Sonoma Wine Region. What I love about these winemakers is they are dedicated to producing wine for “everyday people”. For over 40 years, their whole philosophy has been to build around producing good wines at a reasonable price, one that anyone can afford. I believe they got it right. It is as promised, a well priced and delightful wine.
If you’re ever in the Sonoma wine region, don’t forget to stop by the Mark West Winery tasting room. The Sonoma region is a wonderful place to visit and spend some time. For the record, Springtime is my favorite time in Sonoma.
This is what the winemaker has to say about their Mark West Pinot Noir:
“Enticing aromas of strawberry and raspberry with barrel notes of caramel, vanilla and baking spices. Oak aging rounds out the palate and gives the wine its body. The wine drinks of deep, concentrated raspberry, cherry pie with a touch of cola berry. The wine shows juicy fruit texture and subtle oak.”
You can find this wine at CostPlus/WorldMarket, wine.com, totalwine.com, bevmo.com, wine.com and most all good wine purveyors.
This was a nice surprise to have found at a very nice restaurant. It was a good wine for the price. It’s one you will want to hunt down and give a try. When you do, you will find yourself putting it on your favorites list.
